Terms of Use
Last updated: March 2026
Important: ETFCheck provides general financial information only. Nothing on this site is personal financial advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or an offer of financial services. Always consult a licensed financial adviser before making investment decisions.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using etfcheck.com.au (“the Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. ETFCheck (“we”, “us”) may update these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance.
2. General information only — not financial advice
The content on ETFCheck — including ETF scores, comparisons, portfolio projections, quiz results, and editorial articles — is general financial information only. It:
- Does not take into account your personal objectives, financial situation, or needs
- Is not a personal recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any investment product
- Is not financial product advice as defined under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)
- Is not provided by a person licensed under the Australian financial services licensing regime
Before making any investment decision, you should consider whether the information is appropriate for your circumstances and consult a licensed financial adviser.
3. Data accuracy and limitations
ETF data: Management expense ratios (MERs), asset class classifications, and fund descriptions are sourced from fund provider Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) and ASIC filings. While we endeavour to keep data current, errors may occur. Always verify key figures against the fund provider's current PDS before investing.
Price data: End-of-day prices and return figures are sourced from Yahoo Finance. This data is not provided by or endorsed by the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and ETFCheck holds no ASX market data licence. Prices may be delayed or contain errors. Do not rely on prices shown here for trading decisions.
Projections: Portfolio growth projections and return estimates displayed on the Site are illustrative only and are based on historical return data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Actual returns may differ materially, including negative returns.
Scores: The ETFCheck score is a proprietary metric based on fees, fund size, liquidity, and yield. It is a comparison tool, not investment advice. A high score does not mean an ETF is suitable for you.
4. Independence and conflicts of interest
ETFCheck does not accept payment from fund managers, brokers, or financial product issuers for rankings, placement, or editorial content. Scores and rankings are determined solely by the published methodology. ETFCheck may hold interests in some of the ETFs discussed on the Site; this does not influence rankings or editorial content.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ETFCheck and its operators exclude all liability for loss or damage of any kind arising from use of the Site, reliance on information published on the Site, or any investment decision made based on content from the Site. This includes direct, indirect, consequential, special, or punitive loss, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian consumer law.
6. Intellectual property
The ETFCheck name, logo, scoring methodology, and original editorial content are the intellectual property of ETFCheck. Underlying ETF data (fund names, tickers, MERs) is factual information not subject to copyright. You may link to the Site and quote brief excerpts with attribution, but may not reproduce substantial portions of our content without permission.
7. External links
The Site may link to external websites, including fund provider product pages. ETFCheck is not responsible for the content or practices of external sites. Links do not constitute endorsement.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from use of the Site are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
